1. H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea, will visit Japan from 25 to 29 March upon invitation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

2. On this occasion, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, will hold a bilateral meeting and a working lunch with Minister Osman.

3. Minister Osman’s visit to Japan is expected to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

(1)This will be the second visit to Japan for Mr. Osman as the Foreign Minister. Mr. Osman’s visit to Japan was in 2008 when he attended the 4th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV).

(2)This will be the first meeting between Minister Kono and Minister Osman.
