CAPE TOWN, South Africa, August 29, 2018/APO Group/ --

The Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration  Dr Chana Pilane-Majake, MP and the Executive Director for Centre for Public Service Innovation, Ms Thuli Radebe invite members of the media to the 12th CPSI Public Sector innovation Conference 2018 to be held as follows:

Date: 29 - 30 August 2018

Venue: Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Western Cape.

Time: 08:30 a.m – 17:00 p.m for both days

The theme for the conference is “Partnering for an agile and a renewed public sector through Innovation”. The Conference serves as a critical platform to encourage and advance the adoption of innovation as a catalyst for improved service delivery by the public sector.

Now in its 12th year, the Annual Public Sector Innovation Conference theme calls for a departure from the conventional closed, in-breeding public sector approach to innovation. Instead it promotes an open, multi-lateral sourcing of working ideas and practical solutions from various sectors of our society, particularly the youth, government officials, business, civil society and academia, to renew and reinvent the public service into an agile and flexible service delivery entity.

As one of its major highlights, the conference will feature a Ministerial Roundtable where Deputy Minister Pilane-Majake will engage with a number of Cabinet Deputy Ministers on various issues pertaining to service delivery and innovation in the public service.

The Conference will also feature a Hackathon titled: Public Sector Innovation Hack focusing on public service delivery challenges and finding solutions to these challenges. A group of young hackers has been invited to come and hack for innovative solutions to public service challenges.
