Academic and professional training in Sudan endangered by US sanctions.

WASHINGTON D.C., United States of America, June 8, 2016/APO (African Press Organization)/ --

Adla is a Sudanese lady running a private center of academic & professional training in Khartoum – Sudan, but now the future of her work is under threat because of the US sanctions. "I resigned from a good and secured job to serve my people and to establish the first private center that provides Sudanese accountants with courses of professional accounting and financial management certificates, but now I cannot transfer a single dollar for academic fees for my students", Adla said.
The issues of good governance, accountability, and anti-corruption measures are strongly linked with professional standards and certificates that qualify accountants and financial managers in companies, banks and even NGOs to design and maintain standard systems in their organization. "The sanctions now is punishing the students and depriving Sudanese accountants from better qualifications, they cannot attend exams in Sudan and it is almost impossible for them to afford the costs of courses outside Sudan, when diplomats from US Embassy at Khartoum and from Department of State - Special Envoy office visited my center they met some of my students, they cried because their future is unknown but nothing happened after that visit yet", Adla said.
Adla Saifaldawla 46, married and has five Kids, her business is financed by bank loans. "My husband is a great man, he abandoned his job as an engineer in American company in Saudia Arabia and joined me as one of my staff in the center because if I close the center I can not pay for banks".

Currently Adla in Washington DC for an advanced professional exam that can not take it in Khartoum.
