Received Visit by UIN Malang Lecturers, Ambassador Sunarko Encourages RI-Sudan Islamic Higher Education Cooperation

The Indonesian Ambassador stressed the importance of continuing to encourage increased cooperation in the field of Islamic higher education

The Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum continues to encourage the implementation of the MoU on cooperation between Indonesian and Sudanese universities

KHARTOUM, Sudan, March 14, 2023/APO Group/ --

Indonesian Ambassador Sunarko on Sunday (12/3) received a friendly visit from 2 professors from Al-Quran Al-Karim University in Sudan, Prof. Dr. Faishal Mahmud and Prof. Dr. Bakri Muhammad who has been active as a guest lecturer at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang since 2007.

At the meeting which took place in an intimate atmosphere, Ambassador Sunarko appreciated the dedication and contribution of the two Sudanese professors who have devoted themselves for nearly 15 years to the development of Islamic studies and Arabic language education at UIN Malang, Indonesia.

The Indonesian Ambassador stressed the importance of continuing to encourage increased cooperation in the field of Islamic higher education, including through lecturer exchanges and educational curriculum development.

The Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum continues to encourage the implementation of the MoU on cooperation between Indonesian and Sudanese universities. MoUs that have expired are also expected to be renewed for mutual benefit.

Meanwhile, Prof. Faisal expressed his gratitude for the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum in advancing RI-Sudan higher education cooperation, especially between Al-Quran Al-Karim University - Sudan and Maulana Malik Ibrahim University - Malang. The two universities agreed to extend the MoU in the near future.
