The State of Qatar was represented at the session by HE Ambassador of Qatar to the French Republic and Qatar's representative to the International Organization of La Francophonie Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani.

HE Secretary-General expressed her concern about the situation in the world today, adding that peace and security are subject to turmoil. She reviewed the developments in the political and security situation in several countries, including Burkina Faso, Mali, Lebanon, Tunisia, Haiti, and the transitional process in Chad in particular.
