President El-Sisi Follows-up on "Future of Egypt" Project

The President gave directives to continue intensive efforts to add about 3.5 million feddans in the New Delta, Toshka and Sinai to the agricultural area in Egypt

This comprises a mega national project aimed at meeting the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting to follow-up on the "Future of Egypt" project for agricultural production. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Defense and Military Production General Mohammed Zaki, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, President's Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed and Director of the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority Colonel Pilot Bahaa El-Ghannam.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi was briefed on the developments of the current and future stages of the "Future of Egypt" project, which falls within the range of the "New Delta" national project. That included rates of work progress in the project's infrastructure, which includes roads, axes, wells, treatment plants, electricity supply network, as well as the agricultural manufacturing and marketing systems.

The President gave directives to continue intensive efforts to add about 3.5 million feddans in the New Delta, Toshka and Sinai to the agricultural area in Egypt, which exceeds a third of the cultivated area nationwide. This comprises a mega national project aimed at meeting the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people, and comes within the framework of the state's strategy to keep pace with the needs of population increase, achieve food security, increase agricultural exports and enhance integration between all sectors of the national economy.
