Indonesian Consul General in Cape Town Meets with Indonesian Crew Members in Indonesia Seafarer Corner

The Indonesian Consul General encouraged crew members to not hesitate to report the problems faced by the crew members

The voting mechanism for crew members with the Mobile Ballot Box (KSK) was also discussed

On 26 March 2023, at the Indonesian Seafarer Corner Cape Town, the Indonesian Consul General held a meeting with 91 Indonesian crew members from ships that were anchored at the Port of Cape Town. Among the attendees were the Cape Town Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) and the Voter Update Committee chaired by Indonesians.

During the meeting, the Indonesian Consul General encouraged crew members to not hesitate to report the problems faced by the crew members, where it was later discovered that five crew members had expired passports. In this case, the Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town will take further action and deliver a warning to the corresponding companies.

Meanwhile, PPLN cross checked the data with the list compiled by The General Elections Commission (KPU), and those who have not registered will be followed up by PPLN Cape Town. In addition, the voting mechanism for crew members with the Mobile Ballot Box (KSK) was also discussed, meanwhile Indonesian citizens who are outside Cape Town will use postal services.

The meeting was followed by bonding activities and breaking the fast together.
