Foreign Minister reiterates importance of Africa in Iran’s foreign policy

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with his Senegalese counterpart Aïssata Tall Sall

He expressed his satisfaction with the increasing volume of commercial exchange between the two countries

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian emphasized the importance of Africa in Iran’s foreign policy and the important position of Senegal in Africa.

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with his Senegalese counterpart Aïssata Tall Sall which was held on the sidelines of the 52nd regular session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Referring to the beginning of the 51st anniversary of official relations between Iran and Senegal, he said, considering the commonalities of the two countries, we are ready to develop relations with Senegal without any restrictions.

Emphasizing the importance of Africa in Iran’s foreign policy and the important position of Senegal in Africa, he offered Iran’s interest in holding the fifth joint economic commission between the two countries in the near future.

Holding this commission can pave the grounds for strengthening cooperation, he added.

He expressed his satisfaction with the increasing volume of commercial exchange between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Tall Sall said that the relations between Iran and Senegal arise from the deep desire of the people of the two countries.

She welcomed the proposal of holding the fifth meeting of the joint commission of the two countries and considered it as an important mechanism to materialize strengthening bilateral relations.
