Nationals residing in Juba, Republic of South Sudan, enthusiastically celebrated the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the armed struggle for Eritrean independence.
At the celebratory event held on 1 September at the premises of the Eritrean Embassy in Juba, Mr. Tsegay Mehari, Eritrea’s Consul in Juba, said that the Eritrean people launched the armed struggle for independence on 1 September 1961 after their right to independence had been denied under the guise of a federal arrangement.
Underlining that strong organizational capacity is key to victory, Mr. Teklebrhan Solomon, deputy chairman of the national committee, called for reinforced efforts to achieve better outcomes.
