Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information expresses his condolences to the families of victims of a road accident in Tanzania that included journalists

The group was travelling to Bunda for work when their vehicle collided with a public service vehicle

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic incident

The Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information expresses his sincere condolences for the six journalists and eight others killed in a road accident in Simiyu, Tanzania, on Tuesday, 11 January.

The journalists whose lives have been lost are Husna Mlanzi (ITV, IPP Media), Johari Shani (Uhuru Digital), Anthony Chuwa (Freelance), Abel Ngapenda (Information Officer, Mwanza Regional Commissioner’s Office), Steven Msengi (Information Officer, Ukerewe District Council) and Paul Silanga, their driver. The group was travelling to Bunda for work when their vehicle collided with a public service vehicle.
