KHARTOUM, Sudan, November 17, 2017/APO Group/ --

To celebrate the United Nations 72nd anniversary, an art exhibition by young Sudanese artists entitled ‘Youth Colour the Future’ opened its doors to the public on Thursday 16 November 2017. The exhibition will remain open until Saturday 18 November at the Rashid Diab Center from 6-10 P.M.

Inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, and as an interpretation of the 2030 agenda, the exhibition showcases original paintings and sculptures by 50 artists who participated in a two-week practical workshop. The participants used briefings, photos, videos and stories provided by communications staff of 19 United Nations agencies, funds and programmes as inspiration for their work.

The UN Country Team celebrated the opening of the exhibition along with the artists during a private showing for national and international partners who viewed the artwork and met each of the artists behind the pieces.

The workshop and the exhibition is a collaboration between the UN Country Team in Sudan, the Rashid Diab Arts Center and the College of Fine and Applied Arts of Sudan University of Science and Technology.
