Honourable Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, this morning received copies of letters of credence from the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E Muhammad Hassan.

Hon. Odongo took the opportunity to welcome H.E Muhammad to the Uganda and wished him a fruitful stay in the country. The Honourable Minister went on to recognize and appreciate the Government of Pakistan for establishing a Permanent Mission in Uganda and assured the High Commissioner that the Government of Uganda would soon reciprocate these efforts and establish a High Commission in Islamabad.

H.E Muhammad went on to thank the Hon. Odongo for the warm reception accorded to him and informed the Honourable Minister of the Government of Pakistan's efforts to expand their interactions with Africa through opening of five new Missions in Africa including Uganda with a goal of improving economic cooperation. 

The Honourable Minister concluded by commending the High Commissioner on the existing excellent bilateral relations with the Republic of Uganda and wished him a successful tour of duty.
