A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MoFAIC, has participated in the meetings of the Arab League Education, Culture and Science Organisation, ALECSO, which was hosted by the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

The delegation included Shaima Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Director of International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Humaid Hamdan Al Zaabi, Chargé d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Nouakchott.

The meeting resulted in the election of a new Director-General to the Arab League Education, Culture and Science Organisation, where Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar was elected to become the first Mauritanian to won this title.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation received Sidi Mohamed Ould Mohamed, Minister of Culture of Mauritania, and discussed ways to further develop the brotherly relations between the two countries, especially in the cultural field.
