The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wishes the injured a speedy recovery

NEW YORK, United States of America, September 6, 2017/APO/ --

Statement attributable to Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General:

The Secretary-General condemns the attacks carried out today against a convoy of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). The attack resulted in the death of two peacekeepers and seriously injured two others.

The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

The Secretary-General recalls that attacks against peacekeepers may constitute war crimes under international law.
