South Africa navigates its new role as Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) head

South Africa will be the chair of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) for 2017-2019. Heading this increasingly prominent international organisation could not only benefit South Africa, but enable other Indian Ocean states to develop their maritime domains.

This seminar will discuss South Africa’s priorities and goals as IORA chair, along with the challenges it is likely to encounter and how to navigate such obstacles over the next two years.
