Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Security Update

Embassy personnel are urged to continue to observe precautions when moving about the city and to refrain from unnecessary travel

The U.S. Embassy informs U.S. citizens that in light of recent political events in Juba, the Embassy has reviewed its security situation. Although there is an increased military presence in a number of locations, the security situation in Juba is unchanged. The Embassy is fully operational. Embassy personnel are urged to continue to observe precautions when moving about the city and to refrain from unnecessary travel.

Review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news stations for updates. Be vigilant and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security.
