The Secretary-General met yesterday with H.E. Mr. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal.

The Secretary-General underscored the significant contributions of the Republic of Senegal to democracy, peace and security issues in Africa. The Secretary-General welcomed the commitment of the Republic of Senegal to promote and strengthen the partnership between the African Union and the United Nations, including in its capacity as a non-permanent Member of the Security Council.
