President Danny Faure will be absent from the Republic from 16th to 24th September 2017, attending the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, being held in New York.
 

As the Vice-President is already on overseas leave, and will also be absent during this period, and in accordance with Article 56 and Article 75 (4) of the Constitution, the Designated Minister, Mrs Macsuzy Mondon, will hold the portfolios falling under the President and the Vice-President, and will also discharge any function that the President or the Vice-President is required to discharge under the Constitution, during their absence from the Republic.
