Video News Release: Free Broadcast Quality Video - Electronic and Video Game Festival of Abidjan

The event has attracted participants from the entire eco-system of gaming in Africa including those working in animation, game design and sales of gaming technology

ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, November 14, 2017/APO Group/ --

The Electronic and Video Game Festival of Abidjan (FEJA) (www.FEJA.ci) opened on November 11th at Palais de la Culture in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It brings together thousands of gaming enthusiasts from all over Africa, around the theme : video games in Africa, it is possible.

During the month of September, avid gamers participated in qualifying tournaments. A total of 256 players from 6 African countries were selected to compete and try to win rewards of more than 10.000 euros (show images of gamers in competition).

The event has attracted participants from the entire eco-system of gaming in Africa including those working in animation, game design and sales of gaming technology.

The nascent gaming industry in Africa is experiencing a boom with ever more African themed games, local studios and rapid growth in mobile game revenues. (Show people streaming into the center).

FEJA will run for two days, showcasing the best of e-sport in Africa and providing participants an opportunity to connect over games, win prizes and be a part of one of the fastest growing industries in Africa.

SONORE 1 – Sidick Bakayoko, Event Organizer (Franch 26 sec :) ‘’ The main purpose of this event was to show the ivorian and african people that gaming is possible in Africa. Through this event, we wish to bring together all the gaming actors such as gaming designers, machine builders or gamers in order to show them that there is an eco-system to build. 
We wish the FEJA will be an annual meeting which can drains a lot of people from sub-region in Ivory Coast to developp the eco-system and that this event becomes a reference.’’
 
SONORE 2 – Mahaman Sani Housseyni (CEO of Mog Media Design, NIGER) (French 29 sec :) ‘’ ’’ It was really an opportunity for me to come and maybe to meet other game designers to discuss and try to find out the way we could work for an african video game culture. I agreed to take part to this event because its promotes Africa in video games. We all know that here in Africa, there is neither a lot of video games nor video game designers and and these kinds of events do not happen all the time. ‘’
 
SONORE 3 – Kunmi Adenipebi  (CEO, Naija Game Evolution,NIGERIA (French 16 sec :) ‘Creating video game compagnies in Africa is difficult because of the finance. We have very talented young people who can create games, codes, animate but the problem is the finance.
  
SONORE 4 – Selasie Brown (République Gamers, Ghana) (English 17 sec) : ‘’ Videogames sold on the market, with the exception of South Africa, are purchased in other countries. We buy in the United States, England and China and then sell in the sub-region.
