Former President Mahama, Mo Dewji, Chris Kirubi, First Lady Ngema-Zuma to attend African Leadership 'Person of the Year' event in Pretoria

The event will be used to honor the winner of the 2016 African Leadership magazine Person of the Year and an array of distinguished African Leaders and institutions

All is now set for the annual African Leadership magazine (www.AfricanLeadership.co.uk) Persons of the Year 2016 event billed to hold in Pretoria, South Africa. The event, which is aimed at preserving African Leadership Magazine's tradition of celebrating exemplary leadership as well as individuals who contributed to shaping the global perception of the African continent, will have in attendance His Excellency, John Mahama, immediate Past President of Ghana; Her Excellency, Bongi Ngema-Zuma, First Lady, Republic of South Africa; Honorable Abubakar Malami, SAN, Nigeria's Minister of Justice and Attorney General; Mr. Mohammed Dewji, President, MeTL Croup Tanzania; Dr. Chris Kirubi, Director, Centum Investment, Kenya, amongst other business, political and diplomatic leaders.     

The event will be used to honor the winner of the 2016 African Leadership magazine Person of the Year and an array of distinguished African Leaders and institutions.

The African Leadership Magazine Person of the Year 2016 gala, billed to hold on February 24th, 2017 in Pretoria, South Africa shall also feature a keynote address and a panel discussion on the theme "Rethinking Governance, and Jobs and wealth Creation Strategies in Africa: a Conversation". The Forum would also be used to honor other nominees and leaders, whose commitment to excellence has been impressive.

Past recipients of this prestigious award include; Dr. Mo Ibrahim, founder, Ibrahim Prize for Leadership, 2010; Liberia President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, 2011; H.E. Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria  2012; Xavier Luc-Duval, Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius & then Minister of Finance (2013); H.E. President Jakaya Kikwete, former President of Tanzania, 2014; His Excellency former President Goodluck Jonathan, the immediate past president of Nigeria, 2015.

The African Leadership magazine Person of the Year is an annual award reserved for one distinguished African, who is considered to have blazed the trail in the year under review. A shortlist of nominees are selected from a survey conducted via our online and offline platforms, which is then forwarded to the selection committee and the editorial board for final consideration, selection, and approval.
