Foreign Secretary receives first Seychellois UN AIDS Country Directory Dr Jude Padayachy Dr Jude Padayachy will be stationed in Antananarivo, Madagascar VICTORIA, Seychelles, August 1, 2017/APO/ -- The Foreign Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Claude Morel and the Principal Secretary received the UNAIDS Country Director for Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles, Dr Jude Padayachy at Maison Queau de Quinssy today, where the latter presented his letter of accreditation. During the meeting, the Foreign Secretary remarked that it was with a sense of great pride that Seychelles receives Dr Padayachy who is a Seychellois national and would ultimately add his vast expertise to help in the fight against HIV AIDS in Seychelles as well as in the region. For his part, Dr Padayachy renewed his organisations commitment to help end the epidemic with the implementation of the 90-90-90 target. That is that by 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status, 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy and that 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.  Both the Foreign Secretary and Dr Padachy also discussed the need to fully realise the third target of the Sustainable Development Goals which seeks to eradicate the AIDS epidemic by 2030.  Dr Jude Padayachy will be stationed in Antananarivo, Madagascar.      Distributed by APO on behalf of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles.
