Strengthening Ukhuwah and Spirit of Unity, the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum holds Iftar with Indonesian Communities and Students The Indonesian Ambassador to Khartoum, Mr. Sunarko in his speech stressed the importance of improving the quality of worship, including social piety and other productive activities KHARTOUM, Sudan, March 26, 2023/APO Group/ -- The Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum on Friday (24/3) held an iftar activity for the Indonesian community and society as well as students at the Wisma Duta courtyard. In addition to increasing the number of worship services for the month of Ramadan 1444 H, the joint iftar and congregational tarawih prayers are also intended to strengthen the brotherhood and friendship between the community and Indonesian citizens in Sudan. The iftar was held in a simple but respectful manner, attended by representatives of all elements of Indonesian society, including the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum, the Indonesian Student Association (PPI), and Indonesian professional workers in Khartoum. The activity begins with breaking the fast together, enjoying typical Indonesian snacks, namely compote, accompanied by melon juice and various fried foods creating an atmosphere full of intimacy. After that, the iftar was followed by a congregational maghrib prayer led by Ustaz Sofyan Muslimin, B.A., M.A. and the tarawih prayer led by Ustaz Musa Albarqi, S.Pd. The Indonesian Ambassador to Khartoum, Mr. Sunarko in his speech stressed the importance of improving the quality of worship, including social piety and other productive activities. Ramadan can also be a driving force in efforts to achieve the best achievements in various fields. On the other hand, the Ambassador advised us to maintain a healthy lifestyle considering that the pandemic has not been fully handled and especially when facing quite extreme weather changes in Sudan. Meanwhile, Ustadz Fahmi Umar, Lc., MA in his tausiyah invited to maintain and improve the quality of prayers, including sunnah prayers, completing the Al-Quran and increasing alms in the holy month of Ramadan as an effort to reach a plenary level of piety.
