Coronavirus – Eritrea: Announcement from the Ministry of Health (28 January 2022) The total number of confirmed cases in the country to date has increased to 9,489 ASMARA, Eritrea, January 28, 2022/APO Group/ -- Fifty-three patients have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in tests carried out today at Quarantine Centers and Testing Stations in the Central, Southern and Anseba Regions. Out of these, twenty-six patients are from Testing Stations in Asmara, Central Region. Twenty-three patients are from Testing Stations in Emni-Haili (7), Mendefera (7), Senafe (5), Dubarwa (2), Tserona (1), and Adi-Keih (1); Southern Region. Four patients are from Quarantine Center in Keren (3), and Testing Station in Habero (1); Anseba Region. On the other hand, sixty-nine patients who have been receiving medical treatment in hospitals in the Central (43), Southern (10), Anseba (10), Gash Barka (6), Anseba (5), and Northern Red Sea (5) Regions have recovered fully and have been discharged from these facilities. The total number of recovered patients has accordingly increased to 9,073 while the number of deaths stands at 97. The total number of confirmed cases in the country to date has increased to 9,489.
