“The U.S. Government is proud to work with Tanzanians, supporting local efforts to build a peaceful, prosperous, secure, and healthy Tanzania,” said Chargé d’Affaires Patterson during a visit to Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital, where U.S. health programs help to alleviate the burden of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania’s Southern Highlands. “The broad nature of our relationship is reflective of the depth of partnership between our two countries. We have worked together as friends, partners, and allies over the last half century, and I am confident that our shared journey will continue.”
A key region for U.S. Government partnership with Tanzania, Mbeya hosts a wide range of American private-sector investment, as well as U.S. Government training and development assistance, including the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief program and U.S. Agency for International Development-led programming and Peace Corps.
