[press_body] => L’Initiative AfroChampions (www.AfroChampions.com) vient de franchir une nouvelle étape avec la création officielle du Club AfroChampions, une nouvelle plateforme d’échanges mobilisant les multinationales africaines afin d’accélérer l’intégration économique du continent. A l’invitation Monsieur Aliko Dangote, Fondateur et PDG du groupe Dangote (www.Dangote.com) et Président du Club, de nombreux dirigeants d’entreprises, représentant au total 13 pays africains, ont rejoint Lagos pour participer à la réunion inaugurale. Des personnalités de haut rang, parmi lesquelles Son Excellence Monsieur Yemi Osinbajo, Vice-président de la République fédérale du Nigeria, Son Excellence Monsieur Thabo Mbeki, ancien président de la République d’Afrique du Sud et Président de l’Initiative AfroChampions, Son Excellence Monsieur Olusegun Obasanjo, ancien Président de la République fédérale du Nigeria, ont également rejoint l’événement.
Les participants à la réunion inaugurale ont ouvert deux chantiers de travail. Le premier vise à rassembler les recommandations des multinationales africaines pour mettre en place la zone de libre échange panafricaine (Continental Free Trade Area). Ces recommandations feront l’objet d’une contribution officielle destinée à l’Union africaine, représentée lors de cette réunion par Son Excellence Monsieur Albert Muchanga, Commissaire en charge du Commerce et de l’Industrie. Les premiers débats se sont concentrés sur la levée des formalités de visas et la facilitation du commerce entre les états africains. La rédaction d’une Charte des AfroChampions est le second chantier. Ce document vise à définir la contribution des multinationales africaines au développement du continent. En choisissant de travailler avec les écosystèmes locaux, en soutenant des projets d’infrastructures, en accompagnant l’industrialisation du continent et son entrée dans l’ère digitale, les champions économiques africains peuvent en effet avoir un rôle stratégique.
« Nous avons choisi de travailler sur des questions intéressant tous les africains. La zone de libre échange africaine nous donnera la possibilité de voyager et de travailler facilement dans tout le continent ; c’est aussi la création de chaines de valeurs régionales, intégrant les PME et développant de nouvelles compétences dans nos pays », a expliqué Aliko Dangote. « La Charte des AfroChampions, elle, est un engagement des multinationales africaines pour mieux investir en Afrique, dans des projets à fort impact économique et social. Notre première responsabilité est d’assurer des perspectives et des emplois à notre jeunesse. J’ai été très heureux de constater le consensus sur ce sujet et j’espère bientôt voir de nombreux autres dirigeants d’entreprises signer cette Charte », a-t-il ajouté.
Membre du comité exécutif de l’Initiative AfroChampions, Edem Adzogenu s’est réjoui de la qualité des échanges lors de cette réunion inaugurale. « Nous avons évoqué le rôle que les multinationales africaines peuvent avoir en tant qu’ambassadeurs du continent et de ses talents ou encore les moyens de mieux travailler avec le secteur public ; et c’est précisément cette dynamique de dialogue que nous voulons mettre en place ». Un point d’étape sur les travaux du Club AfroChampions est prévu lors du prochain sommet de l’Union africaine en janvier 2018.
L'émergence de multinationales africaines et leurs activités transfrontalières ont contribué de manière significative à l'intégration africaine, en accélérant les investissements intra-africains et la création de chaînes de valeur régionales. L'Initiative AfroChampions est conçue pour soutenir le développement des champions économiques africains et les aider à transformer l'Afrique. Elle vise également à faciliter les évolutions stratégiques permettant aux champions africains de devenir des géants mondiaux.
