Press conference - Results of the 32nd session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly

The press conference will take place in the Tsavo Room of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), in Nairobi city at around 16.00 PM (TBC) on Wednesday 21st December 2016

Media are invited to attend the press conference by Vice-President, Michèle Rivasi for the European Parliament, and Netty Baldeh (Gambia) for the ACP (Africa Caribbean Pacific) countries following the votes concluding the 32nd plenary session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. The press conference will take place in the Tsavo Room of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), in Nairobi city at around 16.00 PM (TBC) on Wednesday 21st December 2016.

Small-scale agriculture production in ACP countries, constitutional limits on presidential terms, and the impact of illicit financial flows on development finance are addressed in reports to be adopted by the plenary session on Wednesday. The same day, Members will also vote two urgencies: the post-electoral situation in Gabon and the impact of hurricane Matthew in Haiti.

Background information about the JPA

The ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) brings together MEPs and MPs from 78 European Union (EU) and African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states that have signed the Cotonou Agreement, which is the basis for ACP-EU cooperation and development work.
