President Zuma to Meet Premiers and SALGA

The issues on the agenda of the PCC on Friday include the management of migration in the country, the Back to Basics programme of improving local government and service delivery, improving the functioning of clinics as part of Operation Phakisa as well as an update on the Presidential Hotline

PRETORIA, South Africa, March 9, 2017/APO/ --

President Jacob Zuma will on Friday, 10 March 2017, meet with Premiers and the Leaders of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) to discuss matters affecting the three spheres of government, at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

The President convenes the President's Coordinating Council (PCC) quarterly, which is the statutory forum through which the three spheres of government meet to discuss issues of common interest which require intergovernmental coordination.

The issues on the agenda of the PCC on Friday include the management of migration in the country, the Back to Basics programme of improving local government and service delivery, improving the functioning of clinics as part of Operation Phakisa as well as an update on the Presidential Hotline and the impact it has had in addressing challenges raised by citizens throughout the country.

Members of the media are invited to attend the photo opportunity session at the beginning of the meeting and a media briefing at the end of the meeting.
