We cordially invite you to join us for MSF Scientific Day Africa 2016 to be held on Thursday 9th June 2016 at the University of Witswatersrand Medical campus, Johannesburg.

The full day event will be free of charge, with refreshments provided.

First launched in London in 2004, MSF Scientific Days represent peer-reviewed research from MSF's medical operations around the world to an audience of medical practitioners, researchers, academics, partners and government representatives.

Last year's MSF Scientific Days in the UK, TracyIndia and Zimbabwe attracted hundreds of attendees, with the UK event watched live online in 115 countries. Our vision is to be a 'conference without borders' that shares evidence of MSF experience in striving to improve the effectiveness of medical humanitarian aid.

We aim to propose new and innovative strategies for providing quality medical care for the people affected by armed conflict, healthcare exclusion, as well as natural and man made disasters.

What to expect? 
Previous MSF Scientific Days have featured sessions on sexual and reproductive health, innovation, neglected tropical diseases, poverty, migration, related diseases including HIV/TB.

Our selection process
All abstracts presented at MSF Scientific Days are submitted according to strict guidelines.
Selection is made by an editorial team drawn across MSF and partner orgnisations, including London Shcool of Tropical Hygiene & Medicine (LSHTM), Imperial College,London, The Lancet and PLOS.
