On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, President Danny Faure has sent a congratulatory letter to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Sapphire Jubilee.  

President Faure described the occasion as historic and a remarkable milestone. "As Your Majesty becomes the first monarch to reign for 65 years, I and the people of Seychelles look back with fond memories at Your Majesty's towering contribution to your own nation and to the world, as well as to the tireless devotion that you have demonstrated in your desire to unify the members of the Commonwealth in a spirit of shared values based on democracy, good governance and the fundamental principles of human rights," said the President.      

The President further said "the example and the continuity provided by Your Majesty are equaled by the devotion with which you vowed to serve. For us, it is a great source of inspiration from which we draw invaluable lessons."
