Government implements Health Ombudsman recommendations

The Department of Health and the Gauteng Provincial government, Office of the Premier have worked together since the release of the report to implement all the recommendations

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, February 14, 2017/APO/ --

The Minister of Health Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi and the Gauteng MEC for Health, Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa will today address members of the media on progress made in the implementation of the Health Ombudsman's recommendations. 

Earlier this month, the health ombudsman Prof. Malegapuru Makgoba published "the report into circumstances surrounding the death of mentally ill patients: Gauteng Province" with about eighteen (18) recommendations to be implemented within set time frames.

The Department of Health and the Gauteng Provincial government, Office of the Premier have worked together since the release of the report to implement all the recommendations.
