Farnesina, “Fund for Africa” Decree presented to the press

The Minister presented to the press the guidelines and the reference framework of the "Fund for Africa", illustrating its content and objectives

This is a major and decisive step forward for the Italian government to reach stability and security objectives

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,  Angelino Alfano, held a press conference today, on the occasion of the signing of the “Fund for Africa” Decree.

"Two-hundred million euros to cooperate in the fight against irregular immigration to stop departures and suppress the trafficking of human beings. With this decree, we have enforced the necessary strategic measures to reinforce outer borders and fight against irregular migrant flows. This is a major and decisive step forward for the Italian government to reach stability and security objectives, both in Italy and Europe," said Minister Alfano. 

The Minister presented to the press the guidelines and the reference framework of the "Fund for Africa", illustrating its content and objectives, together with the special programmes and ensure the collaboration of the countries of origin and transit of migration flows, within the framework of an integrated foreign policy to enhance the centrality of the African continent.
