Alexander De Croo worried on recent cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Minister De Croo hopes that the local health structures, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, will quickly manage to get the situation under control

BRUSSELS, Belgium, May 15, 2017/APO/ --

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexand De Croo is worried about three recent cases of Ebola in the province of Bas-Uélé, a remote area in the Northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Our country closely follows the situation.

Minister De Croo hopes that the local health structures, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, will quickly manage to get the situation under control, as was the case with previous outbreaks of Ebola in the DRC.

Minister De Croo underlines that our country, and the Insitute for Tropical Medicine (Antwerp) in particular, has a lot of expertise on Ebola that can be used when necessary.
